Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior managers who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with specialised managerial skills and substantial knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate with significant autonomy and are responsible for making strategic business management decisions.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector and for a diversity of employers including restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multi-skilling or for specialisation in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming.

Course Structure

This qualification has 33 units of competency:

  • 16 core units
  • 17 elective units

The MVC Industry Advisory Panel has selected the Elective units that are most appropriate to meet industry requirements.

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements
Academic Entry Requirements Students must have completed Australian Year 12 or an equivalent qualification. 
Minimum Age to Apply Students must be minimum 18 years of age.
Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) IELTS band 5.5 or equivalent 
English Language Requirements English Language Proficiency can also be demonstrated by having an Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) working Level 4 - based on pre enrolment LLN assessment.
