Combine a solid theoretical foundation with practical hands-on expertise covering every aspect of the filmmaking process - from script writing, character development, cinematography and directing to editing, documentary production, advertising and producing. Write produce and direct your own original films through independent and team based projects, giving you a solid understanding of how a film set works. We arm you with a collection of films to showcase to future employers.

Course Structure

It depends on how many subjects you take, but as a guide, each subject is a 3-hour class + 1-hour own study. International students need at least two subjects (normal eight subjects per year).

You can take a max of 4 subjects/classes a week (Term of 14 weeks).

We have a multi-disciplined and hands-on approach to creative technology education. Our classes and workshops are small, so we can deliver customised tuition based on your level of skill and experience. We pride ourselves on knowing you by name, and take the time to invest in your creative aspirations.

For AIT’s 2023 intake, new courses have been introduced. Previously, our 2D animation, film, 3D animation, and game design study streams all existed within a Bachelor of Interactive Media. This gave students an introduction to a range of disciplines, before allowing them to focus on their chosen field.

We're proud of the industry-relevant courses that we've developed at AIT, and armed with proof of their success, we were able to receive approval to teach brand new bachelor and diploma courses.

Now, we will be offering dedicated bachelor's degrees and diplomas in 2D animation, film, 3D animation, and game design, alongside our ever-popular Diploma of Information Technology and Bachelors of Information Technology specialising in either Mobile Applications Development or Games Programming.
