Course Overview

This entry-level course is the ideal course to start your hospitality career, introducing you to a range of hospitality operational skills and basic industry knowledge. As a graduate you can expect to be employed in mainly routine tasks working under direct supervision.

Core Units:

  1. BSBTWK201 Work effectively with others
  2. SITHIND006 Source and use information on the hospitality industry
  3. SITHIND007 Use hospitality skills effectively
  4. SITXCCS011 Interact with customers
  5. SITXCOM007 Show social and cultural sensitivity
  6. SITXWHS005 Participate in safe work practices

Elective Units:

  1. SITHIND005 Use hygienic practices for hospitality service
  2. SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol
  3. SITHFAB022* Clean and tidy bar areas
  4. SITXFSA006 Participate in safe food handling practices
  5. SITHFAB024* Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages
  6. SITHFAB025* Prepare and serve espresso coffee

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements
Minimum Age to Apply ICAE requires all international student to be at least 18 years of age or older. 
Academic Entry Requirements

Must be a high school graduate in your home country or hold an equivalent qualification.

Applicants with significant working experience may also be considered. 

Language Requirement
English Language Requirements All potential applicants must be adequately proficient in spoken and written English.
