Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who service, diagnose and repair electrical systems and components in vehicles in the automotive electrical service and repair industry.
This course is designed for international students who are not involved in a traditional traineeship and will be involved in both theory and practical training in a full-time capacity to gain the qualification.

This course consists of a total of 32 units of competency, including the following 20 core units and 12 elective units:

  6. AURETR129 Diagnose and repair charging systems 20
  7. AURETR130 Diagnose and repair starting systems 20
  8. AURETR135 Apply knowledge of petrol and diesel engine operation 40
  9. AURETR131 Diagnose and repair ignition systems 20
  10. AURETR123 Diagnose and repair spark ignition engine management systems 60

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements
Academic Entry Requirements Applicants must have successfully completed year 11 or an equivalent qualification.
Minimum Age to Apply International applicants must be at least 18 years of age. 
Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) A minimum IELTS core of 5.5 or equivalent test score is required.
