The Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology prepares new employees or recognises and develops existing workers performing mechanical work in the automotive heavy vehicle service and repair industry.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of heavy commercial vehicles in the automotive service and repair sector.
This course has 36 units of competency, including 22 core units and 14 elective units which must be completed over a 92 week period

The successful completion of this course prepares you as a new employee or recognizes and develops your skills as an existing employee to maintain, tests and repairs diesel motors and the mechanical parts of trucks, buses and other heavy vehicles such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes. Fee for Service students are required to undertake 360 hours of supervised field placement which provides an excellent opportunity to further improve their practical job skills.
