Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform advanced diagnostic tasks in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

This course is designed for international students who will be involved in classroom training in a full time capacity to gain the qualification. These students may come from different countries and cultural backgrounds and must hold a valid student visa.

Course Structure

Students need to complete 10 units of competency in total, including 1 core units and 9 elective units:

Core Unit:

  1. AURTTA021 Diagnose complex system faults

Elective Units:

  1. AURETR037 Diagnose complex faults in light vehicle safety systems 
  2. AURLTB104 Diagnose complex faults in light vehicle braking systems 
  3. AURLTD109 Diagnose complex faults in light vehicle steering and suspension systems 
  4. AURLTE104 Diagnose complex faults in light vehicle petrol engines 
  5. AURLTE105 Diagnose complex faults in light vehicle diesel engines 
  6. AURLTX104 Diagnose complex faults in light vehicle automatic transmission and driveline systems 
  7. AURTTA125 Diagnose complex faults in vehicle integrated stability control systems 
  8. AURTTR101 Diagnose complex faults in engine management systems 
  9. AURAEA004 Manage environmental and sustainability best practice in an automotive workplace

Admission Requirements
Academic Entry Requirements
Must have complete AUR30616 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
Completed year 12 (HSC or equivalent)
Minimum Age to Apply Must be 18 years of age or over
Language Requirement
English Language Requirements
Minimum 5.5 IELTS score or equivalent as per the following:
TOEFL iBT: 46
PTE Academic: 42
OET: B for each test component
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) 162
