Course Overview

This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.
At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management, program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements
Minimum Age to Apply iLearn Oz will only enrol students who are over 18 years of age at commencement of their course.

Academic Entry Requirements To enter this qualification, applicants should have successfully completed an equivalent of Australian year 12 or secondary studies in applicant’s home country.

Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum)

International students must demonstrate English language proficiency with minimum score of IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic), or equivalent. 


The test must have been taken no more than two years before you apply for iLearn Oz Courses.

English Language Requirements Alternatively, students can provide an evidence that:
  • They have studied in English for at least five years in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States; or
  • Within two years of their application, they have successfully completed a foundation course or a senior secondary certificate of education or a substantial part of a Certificate III or higher level qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework in Australia.

Internship or Work Placements

Students will be required to complete 100 hours of work placement which they will complete during the term breaks at a time to suit themselves and the work placement provider. Each block will be 12.5 hours.

Work placement agreements will be signed with participating organisations and a facilities check will take place prior to the agreement being signed. Work placement providers will be provided information about clear expectations for the work placement. iLearn Oz will also ensure that agency supervisors are suitably qualified as documented in our Work placement guidelines.
