Course Overview

This program aims to provide students a pathway to a research career in IT.
Students without a background in IT can undertake this program and gain
both the background IT knowledge plus the research skills to go on to further
research oriented study.
Upon completion students will have a broad understanding of Information
Technology plus a strong understanding of academic research in the
discipline.
This program has a course work component that is comparable to a graduate
diploma in Information Technology that focuses on Software Engineering
and Enterprise Systems Technology. Additionally the course work provides
an exploration of required research skills and methodology training to
undertake a career in research
This program also requires students to undertake an individual academic
research project that is equivalent in size and depth to an Australian Honours
thesis. This project will be carried out by working with a research supervisor.
This project will contribute new knowledge to the chosen field.

The program is intended for people who have an undergraduate degree and
/or extensive experience working within an organisation.
