Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in accounting and seeking professional
recognition, including tax agents, accounts managers and business analysts; and to employees performing a range of accounts management tasks for organisations in a range of industries. At this level individuals are expected to apply theoretical and technical skills in a range of situations and to display initiative and judgement in planning activities. They have autonomy in performing complex operations and can be responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating the work of others within broad but generally well-defined parameters.

Course Structure

This course has been designed to meet the requirements for the FNS60222 – Advanced Diploma of Accounting. It contains 14 units of competency as follows:

  • 3 core units
  • 11 elective units

Students wishing to enrol in this qualification must have successful completion of Australian year 12 or equivalent.

Completion of both FNSSS00014 Accounting Principles Skill Set and FNSSS00015 Advanced Accounting Principles Skill Set;
OR
Completion of FNS50215 Diploma of Accounting;
OR
Completion of FNS50217 Diploma of Accounting.

Any overseas/international learner who scores below the minimum level in the tests mentioned above, must have undertaken, or agree to undertake, an English language programme (ELICOS) of at least 10 weeks’ duration.
OR 
Any overseas/international learner who has completed a certificate IV or above qualification in Australia in an English-medium institution, is deemed to have satisfied College English language proficiency requirements.  Proof of completion must be provided at the time of application.
OR 
Any on-shore learner who does not have an IELTS/TOEFL/ PTE Academic/Cambridge score, or Elicos certification, may satisfy College English language requirements, if at the time of their application, they can demonstrate a Core Skills Profile for Adults Level 3 or above, in the ACER English language, literacy and numeracy test.
