Course Overview

This course is designed for students wishing to develop a broad theoretical knowledge base and use of a range of specialised, technical, or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work and/or the work of a team. This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles and individuals may have frontline management accountabilities.

Individuals in these roles carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise that requires business operations skills. They may possess substantial experience in a range of settings but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions.

Course Structure

To attain BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Operations), the BSB – Business Services Training Package requires students to complete 12 units comprising 5 core and 7 elective units.

Students seeking admission to this course must complete schooling of Year 12 or equivalent Australian degree

Students who have previously completed a Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma qualification in Australia do not need to provide school certificates.

Mature age students (21 years and over) may be admitted into the Diploma and Certificate programs without formal academic qualifications.

Any overseas/international learner who scores below the minimum level in the tests mentioned above, must have undertaken, or agree to undertake, an English language programme (ELICOS) of at least 10 weeks’ duration.
OR 
Any overseas/international learner who has completed a certificate IV or above qualification in Australia in an English-medium institution, is deemed to have satisfied College English language proficiency requirements.  Proof of completion must be provided at the time of application.
OR 
Any on-shore learner who does not have an IELTS/TOEFL/ PTE Academic/Cambridge score, or Elicos certification, may satisfy College English language requirements, if at the time of their application, they can demonstrate a Core Skills Profile for Adults Level 3 or above, in the ACER English language, literacy and numeracy test.
