Course Overview

This qualification provides you with the required skills and knowledge to become a Dry Wall and Ceiling Plasterer covering work in commercial and residential building projects.

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCWHS1001 covers this requirement.

  7. CPCCOM1015 Carry out measurements and calculations
  8. CPCCOM2001 Read and interpret plans and specifications
  9. CPCCPB3001 Fix standard plasterboard wall sheets
  10. CPCCPB3002 Fix standard plasterboard ceiling sheets
  11. CPCCPB3003 Fix battens
  12. CPCCPB3004 Fix wet area sheets
  13. CPCCPB3005 Fix ceiling sheets to external protected areas
  14. CPCCPB3006 Fix fibre cement board
  15. CPCCPB3007 Apply levels of finish standards to planning and inspection of own work
  16. CPCCPB3008 Mix plastering compounds
  17. CPCCPB3009 Finish plasterboard joints manually
  18. CPCCPB3010 Manually sand plaster work
  19. CPCCPB3012 Cut and fix paper-faced cornices

Academic Entry Requirements

To gain entry into the CPC31211 Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining , it is recommended that you have:

  • Have been employed in the field of building and construction and have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in residential or commercial applications wall and ceiling lining. 
  • Before enrolling in this course you must successfully complete the WHS Induction Training (White Card) which will allow you entry into a construction site. Achievement of unit CPCWHS1001 covers this requirement
Minimum Age to Apply

Must be older than 18 years of age to enrol. A student younger would find it hard to have gained the level of knowledge and skills gained through life, work and study, that is required to meet the criteria of RPL
