Course Overview

The Real English (RE) program is a 3 level program offered at Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced levels. Each level takes 12 weeks to complete. Students are given progress tests every week.

The RE course is a unique and modern course with an award winning course book designed for students wishing to enhance their language skills in a fun, active and creative way. On completion of the course students should be able to proceed to the next level. The RE classes also form a basis for students to move on to more specialised areas such as IELTS Test Preparation or Cambridge English.
How does Real English help?

– Our students effectively engage in open discussions with their classmates, teachers and staff.

– We encourage open conversations with people in their community, in both public and private spheres.

– Students get involved and become more interested while continuing to improve their general language skills

Why does CTIC have their own Real English course book?

 – The difficulty with using a lot of international course books is that they are generic and not necessarily aimed at the Australian English language students.

 – Real English is centered around life in Australia as well as incorporating social media from around the world to give students a better, more well-rounded course to learn, live and love Sydney.

Course Structure

On entry into the College the student takes a verbal and written placement test which determines their English level and the class to which they are best suited. Students are given progress tests every week to help them understand and improve their performance. Classroom performance is also monitored and further recommendations are made on areas requiring attention as well as ways to improve them. Students are tested on speaking, listening, reading, grammar and writing.

Minimum course duration: 2 weeks.
