Course Overview

Are you nervous about undertaking further study in Australia? Do you think you are ready to study at tertiary level in Australia but are not sure about what you will face in an academic environment? The EAP course prepares you for coursework in a college or university as it focuses on skills and abilities you will need to survive and excel in the academic culture, such as individual or group presentation, participation in a tutorial discussion, essay writing, and referencing skills.


Course Structure

Our highly experienced EAP teachers specialise in building academic literacy and giving you the tools to communicate appropriately in more formal settings. They will also focus on helping you to be an organized and independent learner by teaching you good time management, how to maintain self-motivation, and set achievable goals.

  • Develop academic skills including essay writing, researching, note taking and referencing
  • Build a comprehensive understanding of how academic texts are structured
  • Learn how to use complex sentences, nominalization and other techniques to write in a formal register
  • Develop individual and group presentation skills and overall communicative confidence
  • Complete academic tasks and assignments expected at vocational and tertiary level
  • Complete test training, utilizing a wide range of strategies to tackle different task types
  • Sit a monthly test in each macroskill – reading, writing, listening & speaking

Language Requirement
English Language Requirements Students are required to have an Upper Intermediate Level of English or IELTS score of at least 5.0 prior to undertaking EAP. Continuous assessment is conducted throughout the course.
