Course Overview

BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business (Cyber Security) reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have supervisory performance accountabilities.

Individuals in these roles carry out a mix of specialist and moderately complex administrative or operational tasks that require self-development skills. They use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources.

They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

Specialization in Cyber Security:
Cyber-attacks on Australian networks are an ever-increasing threat to individuals, businesses and national security and there is currently a need of Cyber Security experts in this very specialised sector of the IT industry.

• For specialisation in Cyber Security, 4 elective units must be selected from Group G (training.gov)


Individuals studying Cuber Security units will obtain training and assessment to develop their skill and knowledge in Cyber Security risk management and threats assessment, including promotion of Cyber Security awareness in the workplace and maintaining security of digital devices. 


Course Structure

1. A minimum of 20 contact hours per week of study/tuition have been scheduled by Australian College of Management and Innovation – to ensure students meet their student study Visa conditions.

2. The course duration may vary for students who have been granted credits or RPL towards this course (e.g., students having completed any units in a previous course/qualification).

3. There is no work placement requirement for this course.

To attain Certificate IV in Business, 12 units must be achieved: 6 Core units; plus 6 elective units
