Course Overview

This Certificate will teach you the core knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the automotive industry including the use of light vehicle tools and specialised equipment. When you complete this course, you will be qualified for the Diploma qualifications on the way to becoming Diagnostic Technicians.

Course Structure

You will study mechanical diagnosis, retail, service, and repair topics and case studies as they apply to different Australian industries.

Admission Requirements
Minimum Age to Apply Must be at least 16 years old
Academic Entry Requirements Must demonstrate satisfactory completion of studies in applicant’s home country equivalent to an Australian Year 10 qualification* (Department of Home Affairs may require country-specific higher education requirement for student visa application assessment).
Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) • Overall band score 5.5; or
• Overall band score 5 if packaged with at least 10 weeks’ ELICOS; or
• Overall band score of 4.5 if packaged with at least 20 weeks’ ELICOS.
TOEFL-IBT Score (Minimum) • 46; or
• 35, if packaged with at least 10 weeks’ ELICOS ; or
• (c) 32, if packaged with at least 20 weeks’ ELICOS.
CAE Score (Minimum) • 162; or
• 154, if packaged with at least 10 weeks’ ELICOS; or
• (c) 147, if packaged with at least 20 weeks’ ELICOS.
PTE Score (Minimum) • 42; or
• 36, if packaged with at least 10 weeks’ ELICOS; or
• 30, if packaged with at least 20 weeks’ ELICOS.
OET Score A score of at least B for each test component of the OET.
