Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions.
This course is designed for international students who will be involved in classroom training in a full time capacity to gain the qualification. These students may come from different countries and cultural backgrounds and must hold a valid student visa.

Course Structure

Assuming students have completed a pathway of Certificate III in Commercial Cookery SIT30821 and Certificate IV in Kitchen Management SIT40521 they will only be required to complete the following 6 units of competency:

Core Units:

  1. SITXCCS016 Develop and manage quality customer service practices 
  2. SITXCCS015 Enhance customer service experiences 
  3. SITXFIN010 Prepare and monitor budgets 
  4. SITXMGT005 Establish and conduct business relationships 
  5. SITXGLC002 Identify and manage legal risks and comply with law 

Elective Unit:

  1. BSBOPS502 Manage business operational plans

Academic Entry Requirements
Completed year 12 (HSC or equivalent)
Completed Certificate III in Commercial Cookery SIT30816 and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery SIT40516
Minimum Age to Apply Must be 18 years of age or over

Minimum 5.5 IELTS score or equivalent as per the following:
TOEFL iBT: 46
PTE Academic: 42
OET: B for each test component
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) 162
