Course Overview

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to manage, as an independent ICT specialist or as part of a team, the installation of a range of networks, including internetworking, security, and e-business integration. This course is appropriate for those:

Persons either domestic or international who wish to gain technical skills in the management and engineering of high-level computer networks.
Persons who have been made redundant from the workforce and are wishing to make a career change and who are seeking to update their existing skill set.
Currently holding an ICT99/ICA05 qualification and who are seeking recognition of prior learning.

Course Structure

To attain the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Advanced Networking), the ICT Training Package requires students to complete 20 units of competency, comprising of six (6) core units and fourteen (14) elective units as set out in packaging rules ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Advanced Networking)

Academic Entry Requirements
Students wishing to enrol in this qualification must have successful completion of Australian year 12 or equivalent.

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:
After achieving ICT40120 Certificate IV in Information Technology (Networking), or other relevant qualifications or units equivalent to the core of ICT40120 Or
with demonstrated vocational experience in a range of work environments in senior network support roles, including administrator, operations analyst, technician, operations or support coordinator/technician

or
Any overseas/international learner who scores below the minimum level in the tests mentioned above, must have undertaken, or agree to undertake, an English language programme (ELICOS) of at least 10 weeks’ duration.
OR 
Any overseas/international learner who has completed a certificate IV or above qualification in Australia in an English-medium institution, is deemed to have satisfied College English language proficiency requirements.  Proof of completion must be provided at the time of application.
OR 
Any on-shore learner who does not have an IELTS/TOEFL/ PTE Academic/Cambridge score, or Elicos certification, may satisfy College English language requirements, if at the time of their application, they can demonstrate a Core Skills Profile for Adults Level 3 or above, in the ACER English language, literacy and numeracy test.
