Qualification Description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who diagnose, analyse, evaluate, design and modify vehicle systems in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

Packaging Rules
Based on information available from www.training.gov.au the following packaging rules apply for completion of this qualification:

Number of Elective Units 11

Elective Unit Selection Criteria 11 Elective units, of which:
up to 11 units may be chosen from the Elective Units listed below
up to 2 units may be chosen from a Certificate IV qualification or above in this Training Package or another endorsed Training Package or accredited course, provided that the units chosen contribute to the vocational outcome of this qualification and do not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification

This program will be delivered over a period of 25 weeks 20 hours per week by 20 teaching weeks and 5 weeks of holidays.

Students may be able to shorten the length of their chosen course by measuring skills acquired through professional work experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. All claims for RPL and Credit Transfer should be made upon enrolment in the course and must be received by the Administration within two (2) weeks of the commencement.

Study Mode
Face to face classroom, Practical training and assessment is completed in Automotive Work shop.

Assessment Methods
Assessment methods may include the following: observations, case study, projects, assignments, presentations, role play, quiz, supervised assessment, practical observation
work based Training
On successful completion of this course you will be awarded with AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology students who successfully completes only one or more units of competency within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment.

Admission Requirements
Minimum Age to Apply
Must be 18 years of age or over
Academic Entry Requirements
Must have completed an automotive Certificate IV qualification in one of the following:
  • AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis
  • AUR40816 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling
  • Completed year 12(HSC or equivalent)
Language Requirement
IELTS Score (Minimum) Minimum 5.5 IELTS Score Internationally recognized exam result in line with Department of Home Affairs regulations
